Product Description

Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat is specially designed high-performance primer for external plaster surface to improve adhesion between the wall and topcoat material.
Proper application of this special acrylic-based formulation ensures non-chalking with strong adhesion properties, effectively preventing peeling and flaking of topcoat. Its special formula seals the pores and provides good Anti Alkali & Efflorescence resistance property. Its excellent opacity and whiteness imparts good finish to the topcoat.

Application Description

Step 1 : Surface Preparation
Freshly Plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at least 12 weeks as the curing time for new masonry surfaces. For best results the moisture content of the wall should be less than 10%. Ensure surface is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required
Step 2 : Application process
Dilute 1litre of Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat Primer with Maximum 1 litre of water. Apply 1 coat of Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat Primer and allow a drying time of 4-6 hours before applying topcoat. If there is putty application, then it is recommended to apply the priming coat below and above the putty.
Step 3 : Drying Time
Touch dry for Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat Primer is up to 1 hour and recoat time is within 3-4 hours.

Avoid release to the environment. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Collect spillage. In case of contact with skin wash immediately with soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser. Do not use solvents or thinners. Refer Safety Data Sheet for more details.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat should not be applied to the surfaces or substrates which are exposed to continuous seepage or dampness.

    Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.
