Product Description

Dulux Water Based Cement Primer is a water based primer, suitable for use on plastered masonry, POP, puttied, limed or pre-painted wall surfaces.

Application Description

Step 1: Surface Preparation

New concrete/plaster surface should be allowed to mature properly. Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, free from all loose particles, dust, dirt, grease, wax, mould, fungal growth, etc. before application. All surfaces should be thoroughly rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and thereafter wiped off

Step 2: Application process

Primer surface with a coat of Dulux Water Based Cement Primer or Dulux Promise Interior Primer and allow it to dry overnight. Use Dulux Acrylic Wall Putty to rectify cracks/dents and smoothen out the surface. Allow drying for 4-6 hours. Apply a second coat of Dulux Acrylic Wall Putty and allow it to dry for 4-6 hours. Sand the surface with Emery Paper 180 to smoothen the putty surface. Wipe off loose particles. Apply another coat of primer on the puttied surface

Step 3: Drying time
Dulux Water-based Cement Primer is normally touch dry in 30 minutes and recoatable after 4 hours.

Store container in an upright position, with lid tightly closed in a cool dry place. Keep out of reach of children and away from food and animal feed. Refer Safety Data Sheet for more details.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    Ensure surface is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required.
  • 2. Cleaning
    Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.
