Dare to decorate with hot pink

Use fuchsia pink to add a dash of flower power to any space.

The graceful fuchsia plant was discovered by a French monk in 1703 on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. Charles Plumier named the blooms after Leonhart Fuchs, one of the founding fathers of botany, but it wasn’t long before the word ‘fuchsia’ came to mean a colour, too – a striking purple-red.

Balancing the warmth of red with the subtle calm of soothing blue, fuchsia is an inspiring colour to use in an interior, especially in living spaces and bedrooms. Create a fuchsia feature wall or, for an intense burst of daring colour, combine with orange, crimson or luxurious gold. Alternatively, soothe down your fuchsia tones by bringing in some gentle greys or chocolate browns, and enjoy a pop of vivid floral colour against a neutral backdrop.
